Data plan provider backed up by Deutsche Telekom, parent company of T-Mobile. Low rate data package covers average usage of 50 MB per month with total of 2 GB. Managed plan allows for short term high usage with low usage in remaining months. Data plan expiration 40 months with additional time available using rollover (unused data) or purchase of additional data at $15.00 per 500 MB increment.
Calculating usage:
In a security setting with very low activity such as a remote cabin or worksite, average usage is less than 50 MB per month.

Standby only (24/7): Under 30 MB per month – usage may be higher in areas with poor signal coverage.

Known limitations on cameras:
Camera uses Lithium Polymer batteries for operation when solar or external power is not available. In Alaska, from October until March, unit will have periods of non-operation during cold or extended cloudy weather. Low temperature limit of batteries is +4 F for use and +32 F for recharging. Camera has been tested down to -40 F with bright sunshine or external power connected. For locations with 5 volt USB power available, unit may be used at low temperatures by substituting 5 volt USB power for solar panel.
Pan-Tilt motors may cease to function at temperatures below -15 F.
Camera lens is not heated and will be subject to frost, rain, dust. Protecting camera with an overhead cover may minimize this problem.
Motion detection may trigger on any movement increasing power and data usage. Leaves, branches, hanging objects, etc might need to be cleared or relocated.
Camera contains software and hardware developed and connected to entities located in other countries including China and Germany which may be limited by United States or other country government action or cellular provider limitations.
NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) limitation: Camera may only be used by private citizens for use in locations not sensitive to national security.
Satisfactory performance of camera requires signal from cellular provider. Data SIM provided automatically selects best carrier available.
Full service package includes repair or replacement of defective camera; loss or theft of camera has $70 deductible for replacement of camera, solar panel, SIM and SD card.
VIDEO and AUDIO PRIVACY RESTRICTIONS: Camera is marketed to customers in the state of Alaska. In Alaska, video and audio recording devices are “one-party consent” devices. Check local regulations for details on usage.
HUNTING RESTRICTION: Alaska game laws restrict usage of video monitoring systems. Check hunting regulations for limitations.
PURCHASERS OUTSIDE OF ALASKA: Purchaser must verify suitability of camera in their location. Shipping costs not refundable.
REFUND POLICY: Full refund in first 30 days for purchasers in Alaska. Pro-rated refund after 30 days based on 40 month service life for Alaska purchasers only. Out of state purchasers may receive refund for unused data with return of SIM only. (Maximum refund for unused data $100.00)
