Excellent low cost unit for basic cellular connectivity with WiFi and VPN.
These units are listed by Semtech (Sierra Wireless) as “End of Life” with end of critical software maintenance on 30 Jun 2025. These units are not “FirstNet” ready (LTE band 14).
ALEOS firmware installed is 4.18.0.12 – Updated by Semtech (Sierra Wireless) March 2025. MC7455 generic radio firmware 02.33.03 (current version) installed.
Units were used on AT&T (roaming) and GCI (roaming) using both cellular service providers from Germany (1NCI – both) and Hong Kong (EIOTCLUB – AT&T only). When using foreign SIM with roaming agreements, certain web sites will set location and time to SIM operator location.
Following features were used and found to work: SNMP, GPS, SMS (subject to limited capability by cellular provider), VPN, WiFi Client & AP, Ethernet WAN & LAN, Telnet, Power saving, relay, USB LAN, Cellular.
Future compatibility with OpenVPN Connect not guaranteed. Connects OK April 2025.

No charge limited customer help setting up unit for basic connectivity. All units reset to factory default configuration with password of “12345”. Reset buttons functional for installing older firmware as needed.
